CoD Modern Warfare 3 Support Killstreaks Guide
In this Modern Warfare 3 Support Killstreaks guide, you will be
getting a crash course on how the Support killstreak package works, how to best use it, and the best type of
player and game mode this package is for.
If you are looking for a very brief overview on what each reward does, check out our Modern Warfare 3
Killstreaks list. Here, we will be focusing on the specifics of each package and looking at the best ways to use
each killstreak rather than focusing on the basics.
Modern Warfare 3 Support Killstreaks List - How Does it Work?
The Support Killstreaks package is not really a kill "streak" in that you do not have to get the kills
consecutively. Instead, it looks at the total number of kills you get in a given match. You can die any number of
times and your kill count is not reset.
When the Stealth Bomber says that you need 14 kills to use it, as soon as you get 14 kills you will be able to
call it in, no matter how many times you have died in that given match.
The only catch is that Support rewards do not beget more rewards. For example, if you have the Stealth Bomber
(14 kills) and the Escort Airdrop (18 kills) equipped, the kills your Stealth Bomber gets do not count towards your
Escort Airdrop - only kills you earn via shooting, knifing, equipment, explosives, et cetera will count.
Modern Warfare 3 Support Killstreaks List - Best Rewards
With the Support Package, you want to select only high-end packages. The reason for this is that the low-end
Assault Killstreaks are so much better and so much easier to get than the low-end Support Killstreaks.
For example, getting 4 kills for a UAV is a bit of a waste. The reason for this is that most matches will not
last long enough for you to get multiple Support rewards.
Theoretically you could select UAV, Airdrop Trap (or another 5 kill reward) and SAM Turret and one of each every
8 kills. Alternatively, you could select the Assault Package with Hardline and use UAV, Care Package, and Predator
Missile, and get one of each for every 4 killstreak. Even for new players, the Assault Package wins hands-down
here.
Instead, the real magic of the Support Kit lies in its higher-end rewards. The Advanced UAV, Stealth Bomber,
EMP, Escort Airdrop, and Juggernaut Recon are all great perks.
Typically, you will want to select Advanced UAV, Stealth Bomber, and either EMP, Escort Airdrop, or Juggernaut
Recon. All of these have their own merits, and it really depends on your game mode.
For Team Deathmatch, stick to EMP or Escort Airdrop. EMP will not earn you extra kills directly, but it can be
really debilitating for the other team. Escort Airdrop is my preferred choice, but the only downside is some Team
Deathmatch games will not last long enough to make good use of it. It can also be shot down very easily since it
takes so long to drop its Care Packages.
EMP Tip: One great trick with EMP is to keep it on the back burner until an enemy calls in some
sort of air support. Using an EMP will destroy any aircraft or drop, even a Stealth Bomber that was just called
in.
The Juggernaut Recon is decent to use in longer games like Domination. It is also can be great for running
around and grabbing dog tags in Kill Confirmed. Unfortunately, it is pretty bad in Deathmatch. The reason for this
is Deathmatch games never last long enough for you to unlock this reward, have to drop it in from the sky, and then
actually pick it up and have enough time left in the match to make good use out of it.
The best part about using high-end rewards like the Advanced UAV and Stealth Bomber is that you do not need to
be good at all to get these either - you can easily go 14-14 in a game and get a Stealth Bomber, which often gets a
lot of kills in a single game.
Modern Warfare 3 Support Package Guide Conclusion
In short, the Support Package is good for newer players who may not have a good K:D ratio but are at least good
enough to rack up 14+ kills in a single round (regardless of deaths).
You want to stick to Advanced UAV, Stealth Bomber, and Escort Airdrop for Team Deathmatch. You can replace the
Escort Airdrop with EMP for Ground War games (EMP will effect more players in Ground War whereas the Escort Airdrop
is more likely to get shot down in Ground War). You can replace the EMP/Escort Airdrop with Juggernaut in longer
games like Domination or Kill Confirmed.
When you start boosting up your K:D ratio, move back to the Assault Kit.
