CoD Modern Warfare 3 Killstreaks List and Guide

Modern Warfare 3 GuideIn this Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Killstreaks List and Guide, you will not only getting a full list of all the killstreaks and what is required to get the rewards, but also the function of each killstreak.

Finally, we will also be going over the pros and cons of each killstreak for each build and game-mode. This way, you can pick the right killstreaks for the type of game you are playing, your skill level, and for your particular weapon.

Note that every 5 or so levels you can unlock a new Assault and Support kit killstreak. You can then equip these when you make your custom classes. By max level you can get every Assault and Support killstreak reward unlocked. Everything for the Specialist package unlocks at the same time - upon reaching level 20.

With that said, here is the list:

Assault Package Killstreaks List

Below, you will find a full Modern Warfare 3 Killstreaks list for each of the Assault Package killstreak rewards. If you want more information and good tips on using each killstreak in the Assault Package, check our Modern Warfare 3 Assault Killstreaks Guide.

 Killstreak Name

 Kills Required

Function

UAV

3

Marks all enemies on map every few seconds for 30 seconds. Blocked by the Assassin Perk.

Care Package

4

Drops a box from the sky which contains a random Assault Killstreak reward. Can include any reward, but also can be stolen by enemies.

I.M.S.

5

Large proximity explosive device with large radius. Contains 4 charges.

Predator Missile

5

Remote controlled rocket that descends from the sky. Enemy players without the Blind Eye perk are highlighted in red. Pressing the trigger makes the rocket speed up at the cost of control.

Sentry Gun

5

Places a rotating gun turret with about 100 degrees of range that automatically shoots at enemies. Cannot shoot at opponents with the Blind Eye perk. Can be destroyed by an EMP grenade or knifing from behind. Takes a lot of bullets to destroy though.

Precision Airstrike

6

Calls in an airstrike which deals area of effect damage. Fairly small range, expanding out a bit from the direction that the arrow is pointing when called in. A UAV will mark players on your map.

Attack Helicopter

7

Calls in a computer-controlled attack helicopter which will automatically attack opponents. Fairly light and can be taken down by a single SAM or Javelin shot.

Strafe Run

9

Calls in a pack of helicopters which fly over the map, then double back and take out any players who have not yet gotten cover. Covers a large range and is hard to take down, but is very easy to dodge by cognizant players.

AH-6 Overwatch

9

A beefier attack Helicopter. Does a little more damage and is a bit harder to take down. Typically gets more kills than an Attack Helicopter.

Reaper

9

Player-controlled aircraft which shoots rockets. After firing a rocket, a red spray appears on the ground. You can move this red spray over your target with the joystick. The rocket fired will land on the red target when the number on the screen goes to 0 (the number represents the distance of the rocket from impact).

Assault Drone

10

Player-controlled Assault Vehicle which roams the map and has a gun turret. Very effective, but is marked on the mini-map. Hard to destroy with bullets. Is not disabled entirely by an EMP grenade - requires many bullets, a rocket or Predator Missile to be destroyed.

AC-130

12

Very powerful player controlled aircraft. Launches rockets like the Reaper, but also has a gun turret. When rockets are on cooldown, you can switch over to the gun turret and take out a player or two, swap back to the rockets, and so on.

Pave Low

12

The most powerful version of the Attack Helicopter. Will not go down to a single rocket and is much more apt to kill players in one hit. Usually gets quite a few kills.

Juggernaut

15

Gives you a set of powerful armor which makes you incredibly hard to kill. You can take a full 30 rounds from an Assault Rifle or a few direct grenade hits and live with no problem. You get to keep your weapon with the Assault Kit version.

Osprey Gunner

17

Allows you to control the gun turret of an Osprey Gunner. This is a large and powerful aircraft which will drop out care packages for your team while you shoot any nearby enemy players with the turret you control.

Support Package Killstreaks List

Below, you will find a full list of all the Support Package killstreaks in Modern Warfare 3. For information on the best killstreaks to use in this package, be sure to consult our Modern Warfare 3 Support Package Killstreaks Guide.

Note that the "Kills Required" for the Support Package do not have to be consecutive - they simply refer to your total number of kills in a given match.

Killstreak Name

Kills Required

Function

UAV

4

Displays the location of all enemies on the mini-map every few seconds for 30 seconds. Does not effect players using the Assassin perk.

Counter-UAV

5

Jams enemy radar for 30 seconds. Does not effect players using Assassin Pro.

Ballistic Vests

5

Drops a crate of vests which teammates can pick up which gives them extra armor. You get points every time someone uses this, which is nice.

Airdrop Trap

5

Drops a fake Care Package which explodes if an enemy tries to take it.

SAM Turret

8

Places a turret which will automatically shoot rockets at enemy air support and killstreak rewards. Surprisingly effective if left undestroyed.

Recon Drone

10

Gives players a small helicopter which they can use to tag enemies. Tagging opponents with this copter stuns them for a second and paints them on the mini-map for all players to see.

Advanced UAV

12

Works much like a UAV but also displays the direction players are facing with each pulse. This makes flanking opponents much easier.

Remote Sentry

12

Places a small gun turret which can be controlled by the player remotely.

Stealth Bomber

14

Drops a large carpet bomb across the entire length of the map. Always place on the outskirts of the map with the arrow pointing the direction you want, as this killstreak will then cross the entire map dropping bombs for a decent amount of width in the direction the arrow is pointing.

EMP

18

Disables all enemy electronics, including electric sights on weapons, the score screen, radar, and bullet count.

Juggernaut Recon

18

Drops a Juggernaut suit of armor for you to pick up, but replaces your weapon with a pistol.

Escort Airdrop

18

Brings in a computer controlled Osprey Gunner which drops a large number of Care Packages and fake care packages. Once in position, it will shoot at enemy players who try to take the dropped care packages.

Specialist Killstreak Rewards

The Specialist Killstreak simply gives you access to more perks. In addition to your three starting perks, you unlock a 4th perk at 2 kills, a 5th perk at 4 kills, a 6th perk at 6 kills, and finally you unlock all perks in the game at 8 kills.

It is an interesting killstreak reward indeed, but it is hard for the vast majority of the playerbase to justify using these rewards over the standard killstreaks in-game.

You can read specific tips and tricks for making the most out of the Specialist package in our Modern Warfare 3 Specialist Killstreak guide.
