Modern Warfare 3 Hardline Perk Guide
In this Modern Warfare 3 Hardline perk guide, we will be discussing
everything you need to know about the Hardline perk, including what it does, how to unlock it (and the pro
version), and what the best strategies for using it are.
Hardline & Hardline Pro - How to Unlock and Functionality
The Hardline perk occupies perk slot 2 and is unlocked by reaching level 15. It reduces the required number of
kills to unlock a given killstreak reward by 1.
The Hardline Pro perk is unlocked by getting 80 killstreak rewards with Hardline equipped. It allows every other
assist you get to count as 1 kill towards your killstreak rewards.
A quick way to unlock Hardline Pro is to select the Specialist killstreak rewards. Since you get a killstreak by
getting 2 kills normally with Specialist, Hardline actually reduces this down to 1 kill required for a reward. Each
time you get a kill on a fresh life you will then "unlock" a killstreak reward, allowing you to get this
achievement in a few games of playing!
Modern Warfare 3 Hardline Guide - Strategies
The Hardline perk is one of my favorite perks in Modern Warfare 3. It is very good for players who are decent
but not amazing at the game, use Assault Rifles, and have a K:D ratio between .8 and 1.3 (probably about half the
player-base).
The reason this perk is so good is it allows you to chain together a lot of easy killstreaks. You want to select
the Assault Package and pick UAV, Care Package, and Predator Missile.
This way, you only have to get 2 kills to unlock a UAV. With your UAV active, you can usually get at least 1
kill to get your Care Package. Your Care Package typically contains an item that will get you a free kill (if you
didn't get a second kill with your UAV) which will unlock your Predator Missile, which is another free kill.
In essence, this perk can turn a double kill into a 5 killstreak quite frequently. This is perfect for players
both in Team Deathmatch and FFA games. It is hard to chain together larger killstreaks in Team Deathmatch just
because the games end very early, and it is hard to get big killstreaks in FFA mode simply because there are so
many enemies. The Hardline perk can be very beneficial for these fast and brutal games.
The only caveat is that you should use Stalker with this perk to increase your strafing ability. You will need
it if you are going up against people who are using Quickdraw (which you will not have by default if you use
Hardline).
Just remember that Quickdraw is still likely the best for Snipers and Assassin is usually the best bet for
people using close-range weapons like SMGs and Shotguns.
Modern Warfare 3 Hardline Perk Guide
The Hardline perk is a great choice for the average player to use in Team Deathmatch and FFA games, particularly
if they are using Assault Rifles.
Be sure to set your killstreak rewards to the easy items to increase Hardline's effectiveness - moving a UAV
from 3 kills to 2 kills will make a huge difference, whereas moving Juggernaut from 15 to 14 kills is practically
worthless.
